Making the Most of LinkedIn

If you are using LinkedIn as an online resume, you are missing out on career and business opportunities. I would bet that even people who have to read resumes don’t really want to. So what can you do instead?
Rachel Simon helps people maximize the benefit of their LinkedIn presence. She shared her advice on the do’s and don’t of your personal LinkedIn page and the content you publish to make connections and get more business.
Here are a few things to consider:
Profile picture — professional, no dogs (we love dogs but…) and visible to people outside your network.
Headline — Not your job title - a personal value prop. How do you help people?
Summary — Too much to write. Listen to the episode! (Ironic, I know.)
Connections — Send a message with a connection request. Be relevant.
Content — Share personal, relatable stories in addition to valuable information.
BIG Mistake — Having an incomplete profile (and underestimating Julia Roberts. Email me if you get the joke.)
